CHRISTEL – Life in Fluxus is a film-installation-documentation, new performance in the Fluxus sense and contemporary document about the Cologne gallery owner Christel Schüppenhauer - for 40 years a virulent centrifugal force for Fluxus and visual poetry. Christel Schüppenhauer ́s interest in artists lies in the power of crossing borders, breaking habits, rethinking language through objects, images or sounds.

CHRISTEL ́s life is art. In 1980 she founded her first gallery in Essen-Kettwig with a focus on concrete/visual poetry and Fluxus, expanded and moved to the art metropolis of Cologne in 1987. At the end of 2020 she closed her space on Luxemburger Straße after 32 years of gallery work. But there is no sign of leaning back. A woman and gallery owner who is actively involved in the pulse of art history.
