    Minimum Distance Art Market

    13. August 2020 to 23. August 2020

  • "I welcome whatever happens next" - since 2019, the quote by John Cage has been carved into the frieze of the Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden. Certainly, the composer and artist did not have the global corona pandemic in mind when he uttered these words. And yet the crisis has serious consequences for Wiesbaden's cultural scene. The Nassauischer Kunstverein would therefore like to support artists from Wiesbaden and welcome them to its premises in the spirit of John Cage.

    Special times require special initiatives:

From August 13 to 23, 2020 the Nassauischer Kunstverein will host the Minimum Distance Art Market
, where Wiesbaden artists will have the opportunity to present and sell their work. The grid of the minimum distance is marked on the floor, each field becomes a market stand - free of charge for professional artists from Wiesbaden. 100% of the proceeds from the sale go to the authors of the works.

You can apply to a marketplace until July 20, 2020. The following documents are required to provide professional support for the project:

/ curriculum vitae and artistic career with list of exhibitions
/ A short letter about your own relationship to Wiesbaden

The opening of the Minimum Distance Art Market and the Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden as well as the implementation of the event take place according to a hygiene plan that was developed and implemented according to official requirements. The officially issued regulations and recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute, the Federal and State Government, the Museumsverband and the authorities of the city of Wiesbaden apply. The preventive measures for infection protection include a strict reduction in the number of visitors and the increased cleaning of critical points. The distance rule of at least 1.5 meters applies. In addition, wearing a mask is mandatory for the entire duration of the stay. Visitors are informed of the hygiene regulations on site. The contact details of the participants and all visitors are recorded for the follow-up of possible infection chains with the new COVID-19 virus, treated confidentially and deleted four weeks after their collection.
