The George Maciunas Prize was established to mark the 30th FLUXUS anniversary in Wiesbaden. Maria Eichhorn is the first winner. Born in 1962, she is as old as FLUXUS itself. Her room installation in the second floor of the Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden shows on the one hand the artist's close ties to the avant-garde tradition in which the FLUXUS movement also stands, on the other hand she also reveals changes that the past 30 years have brought with her brought themselves.

Maria Eichhorn's proximity to FLUXUS is particularly evident in the fact that she is not concerned with finished works of art, but with changing perception. The unusual combination of everyday things is intended to induce the viewer to give up the usual way of looking at things and to see things as if they were discovering them for the first time.
